A little Artistic Expression Never Hurt Anyone....

It was the night before Halloween. All was quiet in the house. Maybe too quiet? To protect the innocent: names will not be mentioned and faces are not shown.
Wife/Mother was taking a shower to get ready for a party. Her husband/child's father was snuggling with their little one on the couch. Wife, after her shower, hears loud words (that cannot be written on this blog) coming from downstairs. Wife runs downstairs and discovers that said Husband had dozed off, sneaky child snuck off the couch, took BLACK NAILPOLISH that her mother had left on a table within her reach and ran into the kitchen for a heck of a good time. This child took this black costume nailpolish and covered (with her little footprints and handprints) the kitchen floor, the kitchen wall, the kitchen cupboards, the dishwasher, fridge, bathroom wall, and bathroom sink with this amazing artwork. Now, this was costume polish, so it did come off of everything (for the most part) except one kitchen wall. It could have been worse. Atleast it was costume polish which came off easier than the regular, she snuck out of the family room so it wasn't on the carpet or couches, and she didn't eat it. Needless to say, the wife/mother wasn't exactly counting her blessings as she was scrubbing the kitchen, and husband/father probably wasn't either as he scrubbed this messy baby in the bathtub. But, really...she IS only two, with the cutest little face, and really...who are these parents to deny her a little artistic expression?

My little Tinker Bell

The day before Halloween I left work early and picked up Kira from daycare. She and I along with her friend Ann Marie and her mom went to the county building to go trick-or-treating. Most of the offices gave out candy and it was so fun!! I love that the kids Kira's age always pick the candy that mom won't really eat. And, I love that whenever Kira got to pick what candy she wanted I swear she took forever. She'd pick up a piece of candy, think about it, and then put it back only to pick up another and do the same thing. And, when someone handed her two pieces of candy, she immediately turned around and gave Ann Marie one of them. Awwwh....such a cute litter sharer. I loved taking her to work because obviously it was inside, and her tired little legs didn't get tired after only a couple houses. She did love the candy. After several offices, she really wanted to dig into the candy big time. So, I stopped by my office and got her a snack...and that held her over...for a whole five minutes. My girl loves her sugar.

Zachary Turns TWOOOOO!!!!!!

Kira is lucky to have the sweetest friends ever who are brothers....Dimitri and Zachary. Zachary invited her to his birthday party, and it was SO fun. We went to Jungle Jim's and played the games, and rode the rides. We had pizza and cake and ran around crazy. Well, she did. And, crazy enough as it sounds...I totally let her go on rides that I normally wouldn't. I mean...you just sit a little kid in the ride, buckle them in, and stand back. This is something that I have a hard time with...I know, overprotective mom...but she's 2 years old. Anyway--it was so much fun!

Kira doesn't mind a messy face when she's eating a little pizza

Kira just kept trying to play skiball...just picked up the balls and dropped them right in front of her. I wasn't too much better than her though. :)

Kira and Zachary playing

Probably one of her favorite foods ever--ice cream. Good to the last drop!

Within minutes of leaving Kira was zonked out in her carseat. My sweet child!

Hello?

I love to watch Kira talk on her phone. She pushes the buttons, puts the phone up to her ear and talks. I love it. She's already a little teenager!

Woo hooo!

Kira went potty for the first time today in her brand new Winnie the Pooh potty! She's getting to be a big girl now!!

Two Weekends + Two Garages = Four Dirty Hands

Two weekends ago I called Jacqui...and the conversation went something like this.
Me: Are you awake?
Jacqui: Yes...
Me: Can you please come over and help watch Kira so I can clean my garage?
Jacqui: Yep, I'll be right over.
7 hours later, after removing and organizing every item in my garage (besides Kenny's tools, etc) she went home....
So, today....2 weeks later...I ventured over to her house to help with her garage. I got away with only being there 5 1/2 hours...but it was one big job!
It's not often that I have a friend where I honestly don't mind doing stuff like...cleaning the garage. It's obviously no one's favorite job--but with good conversation, and a good effort from both of us.... the jobs got done, and we both have clean garages! Woooo hoooo!!!

My Chaos

No, No...I don't hate blogging. I haven't forgotten that I have a blog. I haven't given up all together, but life sometimes just gets out of control. My focus changes, or I'm overwhelmed, or just have too many things going on...I can't sit down and blog. I will make a big effort....not a GIANT effort...but not a lame effort...to catch up on my blog. I don't want to waste all the pictures I've taken,...and I need to make sure that I'm keeping up with my fun blog so that when I make it into a book...it's not missing 5 million days. I envy those who keep on top of theirs---but sometimes it's hard. With work, and home, and life...well, I do the best I can in the middle of my chaos. :)

BuNkO

Now, let me begin with the Lily....Lily almost took home the whole table of prizes. But, she decided, and we decided that she didn't need to have FOUR prizes...so she shared, and I think by doing that...she will have friends next time, and people will like her. HA! Seriously though... this girl is one of the quiet ones, but she can play a mean game of BUNKO!!! These are the so cute prizes that we were playing to win. Let's be honest....Bunko is really not a game that takes a lot of talent.... But, the whole fun of it is having a fun girls night and taking something home. I mean...I really wouldn't have been depressed had I gone home empty handed. But...well, that would just make the night soooo much better!!

Now, I didn't get a picture of all the girls. Well, I'll be honest. I totally did. But, I'm pretty sure that some would not appreciate the angle and facial expressions that they had. I mean, I consider myself an equal opportunity blogger. If you weren't paying attention for the photo--I don't think it's cool for me to post your picture for the whole world to see. I mean, I do have a heart and such a HUGE following on my blog. I'll make sure to be a lot more profesh next time. These evenings do need to be documented. I laughed so hard.

Let's get this out of the way--I totally won a prize. I would have gone back even if I didn't win anything...But that just made the night so much better.
My old neighbor Jelaine, who moved a whole block away has been telling me for ages that she was going to start a bunko group, and asked if I'd like to join. Umm...HELLO...of course!! Well, a year later (she doesn't procrastinate or anything) we finally have one.
I had SO much fun. I mean....seriously I did. These girls are so hilarious, and so different, and so entertaining. I mean, I'm pretty funny....but they MAY even be funnier than me! Thanks girls for a totally fun time...and I can't wait until next month. I will for SURE practice so I can be Lily next time and almost take home the house.

Pumpkin Patch

The whole way to the pumpkin patch Kira kept getting more and more excited to get her very own pumpkin!

Kira loved this tiny pumpkin...she kept licking it. lol

Keep in mind...my camera has been acting CRAZY, and it was broken for a while...so I got used to taking pictures with my blackberry. They aren't the best quality...because I didn't have it on a high setting...oops. Again, Kenny's camera is so fancy...I really can't figure out how to download the pictures. Anyway... my visiting teacher, Rebecca has been coming to visit for over a year. She invited us to the pumpkin patch last year-it's something that her work does. Last year I went with Dana...and it was so warm, and we took home baby pumpkins. This year, Kenny and I took Kira...and it was FREEZING. We each picked out pumpkins. Kira picked a little one, but it was just big enough that she struggled to pick it up. ha! Kenny and I picked bigger ones...but they are a surprise for when we carve our masterpieces. It will be fun! :) When I load the photos you'll see our poor hayride came to a stop...and the tractor wouldn't start. oops. But, Kira had a ball running through the pumpkin field and trying to touch every single pumpkin. It was a fun, chilly night. :)

Grandma and Grandpa come to visit

My mom and dad came to visit...as soon as I can figure out how to use Kenny's camera...well, upload the pictures, I'll add some photos they took of Kira playing at the park. They came on Friday, and left Monday morning...way too short of a visit, but I am so glad for the time I got to spend with them. And, I'm glad they got to take Kira for a while and just spend time with her. I made meatloaf for the very first time ...they atleast acted like they liked it--so it wasn't too bad. Ha! And, my mom went with Kira, Jacqui, Logan and I to Johnny's Luau....it was so much fun to take my mom and just hang out with her doing things I would normally do. I'm convinced they should move here...which would maaaybe happen if it would ever stop snowing. So, I think I'm out of luck. I can't wait to see them again--and I know Kira misses them. :(

McKayle's having a boy!

Brooke took SO many cute pictures of McKayle's baby shower...but really, I just want to show the world my talent at wrapping. I mean...how original is this? A plastic bag with ribbon. Ha! So...seriously though...McKayle is having her baby in a month or less. Well, if all goes according to her due date. I can't believe how much time has flown by! I'm excited to see and hold this tiny baby boy...and can't wait for her to be a mommy. It's the best thing ever!

Kira and Logan at the Park

What better place than a park for 2 moms to sit and chat...and 2 kids to run around and play. The best thing about the park is that Logan, who is 6, and Kira, who is 2....can play together and have fun. Logan and Kira have an interesting relationship--so different in age, but they obviously really like playing together. Kira was a dare devil at the playground....poor child fell twice. But, I've been trying to let her play more instead of being overprotective and not letting her do her own thing.
