Kira and the zoo

We never do all that much exciting. I work all week, and on the weekends we try to get out atleast on saturdays. Well, we decided to go to the zoo! It was really fun, and Kira would get really giddy when she saw the animals it was so cute.

So, at first I was really annoyed because there were some animals that were inside because of the weather. It wasn't even really that cold. The elephants were inside, and for some reason that really bothered me. I mean, who goes to the zoo and doesn't see elephants? Luckily...on our way back around they were out and about. Ha!

I decided to take Kira on the carousel. Yeah. That didn't work out so well. She did not want to sit on the animal. It freaked her out. She kept trying to grab on to me. She finally slid herself totally off the animal and I just held her until it stopped. We'll try again next time.

Kira really liked looking at whatever kind of cats these were. They would come right up to the window and stare. Well, this cutest little boy came up and stood by her. Instinctively she tried to give him a hug. Oh my gosh she's so cute with other little kids. She has the biggest heart ever.

She took a nap before we went to the zoo. It was only about an hour instead of her normal two. But, she was zonked out within minutes of getting in the car. She's such a sweet baby. :)
I can't wait to take her back when the weather is warmer and it's not so chilly.

Kira's first bloody nose

So, Kira gets a little over the top when she plays with the dog. She gets hyper...chases him and tries to hit him...and he thinks it's fun t00. Well, atleast I think he does.
Anyway, today she was running around in a circle and fell to the ground. Then she was throwing her head back...she does it when she has way too much energy. Sadly, she let her face get too close to the floor, and she bonked her little nose. She freaked out, but after a minute she was fine. Phew!

I'm Baaaaaaack!

So, I know only like 3 people really look at my blog. I'm okay with that. But, still...those 3 people must be dyyyyyyying to know what we've been up to the last month. I cannot believe that I neglected my blog for that long. Seriously. But, I'm back. I've been overwhelmed, stressed, tired, and let's be honest...lazy. Ha! But, I've got to keep up a little better because I just sat on my couch for an obnoxious amount of time to catch up. Okay. That's all I have to say about that. :)

Bathtime

What fun is a bath if you don't get dirty first?

A much needed vacation

Matthew and Joshua

Matthew and Andrew

My mom, dad, and Kira

Julie and Kamdyn

Kira
Kira and I went to visit my parents, and meet my sister and 4 of her children who came too. My parents live in Carlsbad, CA...literally minutes from the beach. Kira and I had a great flight out, and enjoyed spending time with my parents the first day we got there. We went to church the next day, and my sister arrived that afternoon. We spent the next few days just hanging out and having fun. We went shopping, went to the park, played on the beach, and enjoyed each other's company. Julie's kids were so cute with Kira, and it was fun to watch her play with her cousins. I loved being off of work, able to spend all day with Kira and just relax. I was sad to leave, and am already trying to figure out when we can go again! The flight home was NOT fun at all....Kira didn't have a nap, and screamed for the last 20-30 minutes of the flight. She fell asleep right as we were landing, and I was never so glad for her to sleep in my life. She had fun, I could tell, but it was also cute to watch her when she walked into the house and ran to her toys. It's good to be home...but I need more sunshine!!!!

Dusters are fun?

I can honestly say I've never taken the duster out of the vacuum in front of Kira. I don't use it. It bugs me. But, somehow she's decided that it's very entertaining. She takes it out...puts it between her legs...walks around with it...and puts it back. Whatever keeps her entertained. She cracks me up. ha!

Big Girl Shoes

I got Kira her first real pair of flip flops when I was in California. Okay, well, they aren't really flip flops because they go aroung her heal also, but they basically are. It was so cute to watch her walk around today in them...she hasn't quite got the hang of it. Today I was looking at her and ...she's still got a chubby belly, but I feel like she's looking like a "big kid" now. I just had to take a picture. Why? I don't know. And...there's her favorite little buddy Duke's head poking into the picture. He loves her.

Sunscreen Reminder

I will not reveal who these cute toes, but oh so BURNT legs belong to. But, I want this to be a reminder to everyone before summer comes, that you can get burned, and sunscreen is a good idea....The photo above proves my point.
Okay, so you're all dying to know who this is. I can't keep it in any longer. It's Julie. Yep. My sister. Poor girl. :)

Proud Mother

There comes a time in every mother's life where she is proud. I mean, really proud of her children's accomplishments. This is one of those moments. She's learned to pick her own nose. That's right folks. My child is a nose picker, and I couldn't be prouder.

The Simple Things

Sand on her feet. Sunshine on her face. A beautiful view of the ocean. A bucket and a shovel in hand. Could life get any simpler? When life gets annoying, or frustrating, or out of control--I'll take myself back to watching my child on the beach.
The simple things in life.
I treasure them.

Pint-Sized Cousins

Side by side

Playing outside

Kira, Andrew, Kamdyn

Playing ouside

Helping Grandma walk Romeo
Not only do I wish I lived closer to my siblings so for my selfish reasons...but how fun would it be for Kira to have a cousin just her age--9 days apart--live so close? It was cute to see how different Kira and Kamdyn were...but they had fun together, and I bet they'd be best friends if my sister and I lived even in the same state. :(

Kira's first time at the beach...

Julie, Kamdyn, Mom, Kira

Kira can play by herself...

And she plays nice with others...

And she loves to play in gross stuff...

And, she's just so cute.
Kira got to go to the beach and play. It wasn't warm enough to get in the water, but she loved playing in the sun and sand. It sure wore her out, and she passed out in the car on the way home. It was fun to be able to let her play outside. She loved it. I can't wait to take her back!

The "Johnson" Girls

I miss my sister and my mom...well, I miss all of that family for that matter. But, my mom and sister and I had some much needed girl time. Julie and I put the little ones down for a nap, and left Dad to take care of the crew of kids while we went out! We went to the cutest little Italian place and sat outside...and chatted. Then, we did what all girls love...we went to shop at Target. :) ha! I loved just being able to hang out with them and wish I lived closer. :( Anyways...I think we need to do it every year!

So Sweet

Kira and I went to church with my parents when we were there to visit. I got her dressed up, and of course I thought she was the cutest thing ever. She went to the Nursery for the first time. My mom and I took her in a little late...and all the kids were sitting at the miniature table, in their miniature chairs...all eating snacks. Kira walked right in and sat in an empty chair and looked up--waiting for her snack. I was so worried to leave her there--I was worried that she'd get sad or scared. Umm no. When I went back to get her she was running through bubbles they were blowing and I had to chase her and pick her up because she didn't want to leave. She just looks so cute. awwh....
